Three-part stories are making a comeback for Peter Capaldi's final series of Doctor Who.

Speaking to Digital Spy, writer Toby Whithouse has confirmed that episodes 6-8 of Series 10 will be a rather exciting sounding three-part adventure, featuring brand new monsters, The Monks.

"Mine is the third part of a three-parter," Whithouse has confirmed. "Steven [Moffat]'s done the first one, Peter Harness did the second and I've done the third."

"It's set modern-day... and I think anything more than that and Steven will come round and kick me in the shin!"

Whithouse went on to share his thoughts on new companion Bill, played by Pearl Mackie: "She has very good comic timing, and there's a lovely chemistry between her and Peter."

In addition to the Monks, also threatening the Doctor this year will be the Daleks, Ice Warriors, Missy (Michelle Gomez), and the Cybermen - old and new!

Doctor Who returns to our screens with 'The Pilot' on Saturday, 15th April on BBC One.
