David Tennant has said he "can't think of a finer choice" than Jodie Whittaker to play the Thirteenth Doctor.
Tennant, who of course played the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who, has previously starred alongside Whittaker in the ITV detective drama Broadchurch, and has known the actor for many years.
Speaking at San Diego Comic Con, he said that "Jodie is one of the best actors working in Britain right now" and that he is "very excited" to see her in action next year.
