Alan Cumming has accidentally announced that he will be playing King James I in Jodie Whittaker's first series of Doctor Who.
Speaking on Homo Sapiens podcast, the actor said: “I’m about to go and do an episode of Doctor Who. I’m so excited!”
“I’m James I,” he revealed “So I’m kind of like, you know, a kind of dandy, foppy coward who kind of comes alright in the end. ”
The actor also revealed that he may be a recurring character, adding: “They said he might come back!”
Doctor Who Series 11 is currently still being filmed and is due to air in Autumn 2018 on BBC One.
